									Lazarus (1st C)) with Angel showing the 
									empty grave on the right. St. Peter on the 
									lower right corner when Christ appers at the 
									Sea of Tiberias (John 21:4-8). St. Elijah 
									the prophet with St. Enoch and Rakh [Disma - 
									in Catholic] the Righteous Thief at the 
									Gates of Paradise (six-winged Cherub is 
									nearby) above on the right side. Also Rakh 
									the Righteous Thief is standing below and 
									looking toward Resurrected Christ. In the 
									lower part of the icon Christ in Hades 
									taking Righteous patriarchs, prophets, and 
									holy women: Adam, Abel, Isaac, Moses, Holy 
									Glorious Prophet Elijah (9th C BC), Jacob, 
									Noah, Eva, Rebecca, Sarah, Anna, Abraham, 
									Kings Solomon and David, Abraham, John the 
									Forerunner and Rakh the Righteous Thief from 
									Hell. The Angels of God on the left killing 
									the devil on the left. A six -winged Cherub 
									guards the Heavinly Gates. Also three scenes 
									are in the upper left corner: 1. Crucifixion 
									flanked by Mother of God, Holy Myrrh-bearer 
									and Equal-to-the-Apostles Mary Magdalene 
									(1st C), St. John the Theologian, Holy 
									Martyr Longinus [Longin] the Centurion (1st 
									C). 2. Holy and Glorious Apostle Thomas (the 
									1st C.) Unbeliever putting the hand into 
									Chrit's wound. 3. St. Peter sees the linen 
									grave clothes lying empty. The icon is 
									painted in Palekh on the Cypress wood. |
