St. Elijah passes his mantle to his successor Holy Prophet Elisha [Elisey 9th C B.C.] The central composition presents st. Elijah in the cave, fed by the raven (1 Kings 17:4-6). The scenes on the left below are: 1) the miracle of St. Elijah when He and the pagan priests of Baal offer sacrifice at their altars. 2) Elijah being fed by Angel of the Lord (1 Kings 17:4-6). And Sts. Elijah and Elisha dividing the Jordan River with his mantle on the right. The Icon is with kovcheg.
