            Name: Christ Pantocrator surrounded by
the scenes from the Passions of Christ and Holy Feasts. The fragment
from the expertise: Instead of a book in his left hand of Christ that is
located on a Sphairos, a ball that represents the cosmos. These stars
and decorate it is designed like a orb. This detail, which in Orthodoxy
there is not really how the painting and the arrangement of the holiday
season, so has role models in Western images with representations of the
Rosary point, apparently to a part of Greece, was strongly mitgepragt
Western church. This is particularly true for the islands of the
Dodecanese islands in the Aegean ahlich order that had dominated
Venetian. In fact, the icon is probably in Jerusalem, as an interesting
detail shows, namely, the very accurate representation of the Muslim
Dome of the Rock as the Temple of Herod on the scene of the Ascension of
Christ. The very fine design of textile surfaces of gold refers to the
East as the origin. The scenes at the Savior shows clockwise bottom left
of starting a medical cure, the conversation with the Samaritan woman
(John 4), the appointment of Zachaus (Luke 19), then amazingly, the
Ascension, the wedding at Cana, labeled as Galilee (John 2) an unclear
picture of a sermon, the entry into Jerusalem, the Raising of Lazarus,
the Last Supper, foot washing, the show of suffering in the garden of
Gethsemane, the arrest of Christ, the denial by Peter, Peter and the
rooster (Matt House 26 , 74 - 75), the scourging of Christ, sine mockery
and crowning with thorns, his crucifixion, and Easter image as an
encounter with Maria Magdelena and Peter in the garden (Noli me tangere,
John 20, 17). The four corners show the beheading of John the eaves and
the surprise of his head to Salome, St. George fighting the dragon, and
two holy bishop, Saint. Eleutherios and not sure readable child carrier.
The icon was taken incidentally in a larger context, as the small crown
proves the lower right, above the already initiated to next scene. |
